Twitter Tool Tuesday – Bim.im

Print Friendly

Bim.im is a URL shortening service similar to Bit.ly. It enables users to shorten very long URL’s to a few characters, saving them lots of space.

For example: http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&topic=1727146&answer=2604608#utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=may2012&utm_content=interface is shortened to: http://bim.im/1tl.

The service also provides URL stats, listing its top 5 most clicked/visited URL’s as well as details/stats for the URL’s most recently “bim.imized”.

While URL shorteners are useful tools, there are some pitfalls to navigate when using them. Read our blog post: Beware the Dangers of the URL Shortener!
