Twitter Tool Tuesday – Blast Follow

Print Friendly

BlastFollow enables you to follow Twitter users who share your interests en masse. To use the tool, users simply need to enter a hashtag into the search box and click the “get users” button. After a few seconds users are presented with a list of people who recently tweeted with that hashtag. Once logged in, users can then click “blast!” to follow all those people. Progress can be viewed on a person by person basis.

Blastfollow is a great tool to build up the number of people you’re following that have an interest in the subject you focus on. You can see how many people are interested in what you offer and automatically follow them, which ultimately serves to increase your followers as some people you’ve followed will follow you back.

By using different keywords to search you are also able to see which keywords bring back the most users therefore enabling you to better focus your tweets around the best keywords. One drawback with Blastfollow is that overuse can get you temporarily banned from twitter so it’s advisable to only use the tool in moderation and use it sensibly i.e. don’t BlastFollow people outside your subject area.
