Twitter Tool Tuesday – Poll Everywhere

Print Friendly

Poll Everywhere uses web technology to gather audience responses in situations such as classrooms, conferences, presentations, radio, television, print and more.

Polls are displayed to an audience who can vote via text, web or Twitter. Twitter votes are sent to a specific Twitter handle whereas text/web votes are sent to special short number. Premium users can create keywords or hastags for people to use when they vote, which serves as a nice branding opportunity.

When votes have been casted, they’re forwarded to the servers at Poll Everywhere for counting. Once all votes have been counted and verified, poll results are published for all to see. For those with little patience, results can also be viewed in real-time.

All-in-all Poll Everywhere is a really good tool for gauging audience sentiment as it can be used in virtually any situation. Its ability to stream live results makes it particularly useful for live audience events.
