Twitter Tool Tuesday – Trunk.ly

Print Friendly

Trunk.ly is a free bookmarking tool that gathers all the links you share online and makes them available via a searchable web interface. Users can gather links from platforms such as Delicious, Facebook, Twitter and WordPress plus it works with RSS feeds, so users can also gather links from services such as Posterous and InstaPaper.

Once you’ve set up an account and logged in, you simply authorise platforms you want the tool to connect to. It will then start collecting any links you share AND rather cleverly, it’ll go back and gather any links you’ve shared in the past from your accounts.

Links are displayed in chronological order with icons to indicate what platform they’ve come from, along with any tags and/or messages included with the original link.

Trunk.ly’s strongest feature is its search facility, which filters the listing of links as you type, making it incredibly quick and easy to find links you’ve posted previously.

Trunk.ly also has some other nice features. There’s a “Save into Trunk.ly” button which can be dragged and dropped onto your browser, and a Trunk.ly save button that allows users to track who has shared their content. There are also blog widgets and social features such as the ability to follow other Trunk.ly users to view their links and identify users who share the same links as you.

If you want to retrieve a link but simply can’t remember where it is, Trunk.ly is your answer.
